Niykee is a songwriter who, despite her busy schedule, has managed to maintain her routine. Some of her personal highlights included her being picked by Snoop dogg to be his private assistant at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee constantly sifts through the numerous beats delivered to her. The majority are a source of new music ideas. It's easy to tell when a beat's excellent after just five seconds and then I'll get a song in my head and start writing right away she tells. My guitar is on the back of my porch and I'll let my words flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. In her development as a lyricist Niykee notes that the pain of her history is an unending source of sources of inspiration. "Even when I don't write about my own life in the open the grief of losing my sister as well as my difficult childhood is incorporated into my music," she says. The memories influence my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I could listen to any of my music 20 years down the road and be happy with what I had to say.
