She spent nearly a decade working for The Washington Post covering football, basketball, multiple Olympics as well as Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols started a nine-year time at ESPN which saw her win the two Emmy Awards, and featured on many of ESPN's top programs like NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Nichols worked at TNT as a reporter, reporting on NBA games that included playoffs, regular season and All Star shows. In addition to the reporting on TBS and TNT, she also reported on broadcasts of golf and baseball as well as the Final Four on CBS. Only the second woman has been chosen from more than two hundred nominees in the history of 42 years for this award.
